How to Hook Up a Water Line to a Refrigerator

Connect the line to the water line connector on the back of the refrigerator. Attach one end of the copper tubing to the refrigerator's water pipe, using a nut and ferrule. Drill a hole either through the cabinet wall separating the space under the sink and the refrigerator or in the basement ceiling up to the refrigerator. The valve connected to the right side of the faucet is the cold water supply line. Drill as close to the back wall of the cabinet as possible, so you do not lose storage space inside the cabinet.
